This Privacy Policy describes how DiecastModeler (operated by Hiteck Hobbies; the “Site,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit diecastmodeler.com, contact us, or place an order.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site.
Information we collect
- Contact and order details you submit: name, email, phone, billing and shipping address, order contents, and messages you send us.
- Payment confirmation from our processor (Stripe). Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Usage data such as pages viewed, search terms, browser type, and approximate location from IP address. Our store cart is saved in your browser (local storage), not as a tracking cookie.
We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or other third-party marketing cookies on the Site today. If that changes, we will update this policy.
How we use information
- To process orders, calculate shipping, arrange fulfillment, and send order emails
- To answer questions, handle returns, and provide customer support
- To detect fraud and keep the Site secure
- To improve the catalog and the Site
- To send order or account messages; promotional email only if you opt in, with an unsubscribe link
Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run the store:
- Stripe, to process payment
- Shipping carriers and fulfillment partners (including CA and NC warehouse partners)
- Email and hosting providers that operate the Site and our inbox
- Authorities when required by law
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their cross-context advertising.
Cookies and similar technology
The store uses browser local storage for your cart and session storage for a short-lived product view. These are needed for checkout to work. We do not use a cookie-consent banner because we do not set non-essential tracking cookies. You can clear stored data in your browser settings; that will empty the cart.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California), you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, or an accounting of how we use it. Email info@diecastmodeler.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information of anyone under 16.
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Retention and security
We keep order records as needed for fulfillment, taxes, and legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them when they are no longer required. No method of transmission is perfectly secure; we use HTTPS and reputable processors to reduce risk.
